Acorn Harvesting for the Sacramento Tree Foundation

A fun, free and family-friendly volunteer opportunity to help sustain Sacramento's wonderful tree canopy.

Come learn about Sacramento's coveted tree canopy while helping to sustain it!  In order to nurture the beloved forests in and around our city, the Sacramento Tree Foundation has set a goal of planting 5 million more trees by 2025.  On October 30th, you can help reach this goal by coming to the PCNC Acorn Harvest!

Charlotte Glennie '09 will talk about the importance of oak trees for Sacramento's environment and train you in collecting native acorns at one of our region's many open spaces.  The harvested acorns will join the Sacramento Tree Foundation's Seed to Seedling program, and they will eventually be planted to help reach the goal of adding 5 million trees to Sacramento lawns and open spaces by 2025.  This free outdoor event is family-friendly and open to all ages!

Date and time: Saturday, October 30, from 9 a.m. until noon.

Location: to be determined. Charlotte Glennie will provide details on RSVP.

RSVP by October 23rd to charlottefrostglennie@gmail.com
