PCNC Annual Dinner: "What's in Your Kitchen and What's On Your Menu?"

At this year's annual dinner, Anthropology Professor Alan Mann will address a favorite Bay area question: What should we eat? Come hear him explain how the presumed diet of our ancestors helps us understand what a good diet for humans ought to be.

Please join fellow alumni and friends at PCNC’s Annual Dinner in the University Club in San Francisco on April 7th.  This year’s distinguished speaker will be Anthropology Professor Alan Mann.

Professor Mann will address a question that confronts the Sunday brunch, the modern household, and national health policy: What should we eat?  In this context, he will discuss how the presumed diet of our ancestors helps us understand what a good diet for humans ought to be.

Professor Mann is a physical anthropologist whose interests include paleoanthropology and human evolution.  He began teaching at Princeton in 1986 and joined the Princeton faculty full time in 2001.  Professor Mann teaches courses on human adaptation and evolution as well as a summer field course on modern human origins in France.  He is the author of Some Paleodemographic Aspects of the South African Australopithecines and is the co-author (with Mark L. Weiss) of Human Biology and Behavior: An Anthropological Perspective. Professor Mann is now a Professor Emeritus at University of Pennsylvania.
