Shakespeare in The Park: Los Gatos

Join fellow tigers for a pot-luck picnic in Oak Meadow Park and enjoy a performance of Charley's Aunt- a madcap farce that will have the whole family laughing!

Charley’s Auntis a tale of two lovesick young men who convince their cigar smoking friend to don a dress in an outrageous scheme to impress the ladies. What could possibly go wrong? Charley's Aunt, written by Brandon Thomas, broke all box office records in its original London run in 1892.

Directed by Bruce W. De Les Dernier, with guest director Rachel Bakker, the Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival has played to sold-out audiences over the last nine years. The Festival is an all-outdoor venue in the beautiful setting of Oak Meadow Park, located at the corner of Blossom Hill Rd. and University Ave.  Amphitheater-style seating provided- no need to bring extra chairs, with wheelchair seating available. http://www.festivaltheatreensemble.org/10th-annual-los-gatos-shakespeare-festival/

The gem of the Los Gatos parks, Oak Meadow Park is centrally located. A large 12 acre park featuring a large grass field, large playground area with a real decommissioned USAF T-33 Jet, bocciball courts, BBQ and picnic facilities, Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, W.E. Bill Mason Carousel, access to Vasona County Park, and the Los Gatos Creek Trail. If you want to catch the rides the last train/carousel ride leaves the station/starts to whirl at 4:30 pm Park Information Here.

Amy Goldsmith ’80, P’15 will be hosting the pot-luck and wearing lots of ORANGE! Meet up with her and her family at the picnic tables right in front of the theater beginning at 6pm. Bring a dinner item to share, and wine is allowed in the park. For those who are interested in a picnic done for them, Los Gatos Shakespeare just called out a local talent that delivers to the stage. They are "The Picnic Guild", also thepicnicguild.com. They deliver gourmet picnics.

We invite you to join us as we play in the park after dark! Remember some warm layers!
