Architectural Tour of the Oakland Museum of CA with Mark Cavagnero and Assoc., & Gray Dougherty '02

Join fellow tigers for lunch and a unique tour. Originally designed by Architect Kevin Roche in 1969, the museum was recently renovated by Mark Cavagnero and Associates. Mark Cavagnero's sensitive and elegant renovation has won numerous awards.

Join PCNC on Saturday, March 31st for an architectural tour of the Oakland Museum of California (http://museumca.org/). Originally designed by Architect Kevin Roche in 1969, the museum was recently renovated by Mark Cavagnero and Associates (http://www.cavagnero.com/) and reopened in late 2010. Mark Cavagnero's sensitive and elegant renovation has won numerous awards.
 
Gray Dougherty '02, an Associate at Dougherty + Dougherty Architects in Oakland, will facilitiate the group as John Fung, Senior Associate at Mark Cavagnero and Associates and Project Manager of the Oakland Museum renovation, leads us on a tour of the museum, explaining the challenges working with a tight budget and a landmark building that was in serious need of repair.  The tour will end with enough time to enjoy the museum exhibits prior to closing.
We will meet for lunch at 12pm in the museum cafeteria. The tour will begin promptly at 1pm. The group will continue to Lake Chalet (http://www.thelakechalet.com/) after the tour for a drink.
Ticket includes museum admission and lunch. Join us for an engaging tour of this East Bay gem!
