Non-Profit Career Networking

Join us on November 7 at CBSi in San Francisco to hear from leadership of Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, The Chinese American International School, Outward Bound California, and a leading non-profit executive recruiter. Register by 11/3.

PCNC’s Executive Committee believes that the Club should be helpful in advancing the careers of its members, especially in this time when many are encountering economic challenges.  Earlier this year we had a career-networking event focused on one’s personal and professional brand, building on the momentum of our 2011 Palo Alto networking event.  This November we are pleased to offer an event focused on the realm of non-profit organizations, and what careers are like in this field.  This is not in any way a fund-raising effort for these organizations.

We have invited four distinguished panelists to share their experience and insights with us:

-Mr. Josh Brankman ’99, Executive Director of Outward Bound California (www.outwardboundcalifornia.org);

-Mr. Mark Oppenheim:  Mark is the Founder and Senior Principal of m/Oppenheim Associates (www.moppenheim.com), a leader in recruiting executives for non-profit organizations;

-Ms. Betty Shon:  Betty recently retired as Chief Financial Officer of Chinese American International School (www.cais.org).  In her long career with CAIS, she had been appointed twice as the School’s Acting Head.  She has extensive knowledge of independent schools;

-Mr. Scott Staub:  Scott is Executive Director of Friends of the San Francisco Public Library (www.friendssfpl.org) and had held senior positions with other non-profit organizations.

Registration is required in advance of the event – please sign up by end of day 11/3.  We need to submit attendee list in advance at the venue.   We will be providing casual food (something like Goat Hill pizza).  This event will be free for members.  The charge for non-members will be $10 per person.

This event will take place on 11/7 at 7pm at:

CBS Interactive, Inc.
235 Second Street
San Francisco, CA 94105

We are very grateful that CBSi is providing us with the event space – they recently re-did the front area into an employee hangout/cafeteria, and it looks great.  This location is convenient to downtown SF, BART and Muni.

We look forward to welcoming you there.
