Funny Money: The Business Cartoons of Phil Witte '79

Join us for a fun evening of cartoons from the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and other publications, presented via PowerPoint by the cartoonist himself, Phil Witte '79, at the Mechanics' Institute in San Francisco on September 19th.

Phil is a feelance cartoonist, author, gag writer, and lawyer who has been a cartoonist in residence at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa and at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. Phil is also the author of two jokebooks, What You Don't Know About Turning 50 and a sequel on turning 60, both published by Simon & Schuster. He occasionally collaborates as a writer for the syndicated cartoon Bizarro. Phil sold his first cartoon when he was 15. Resting on his laurels, he sold his second cartoon at age 47. Soon he was selling political cartoons to the San Francisco Chronicle and cartoons on various subjects (including business, law, medicine, relationships, pets, religion, art, writing, guys on desert islands) for newspapers and magazines here and even over in England.
