Ivy Alliance Night at SF Opera's "La Boheme"
San Francisco Opera offers Ivy alumni and friends a special 30% discount on tickets for "La Boheme" on Friday, December 5, plus a complimentary wine reception and private talk in the Dress Circle North Promenade area beginning at 6:30 p.m.

By Giacomo Puccini
When an aspiring poet falls in love with a fragile seamstress, their intense passion is matched only by their youthful idealism. Can their tender relationship survive the cruelties of life? John Caird, the director of two of the biggest stage hits of recent years, Les Miserables and Nicholas Nickleby, brings his unique touch to this new production of Puccini's beloved opera.

Making her San Francisco Opera debut, Greek soprano Alexia Voulgaridou brings her warm, luminous tone and urgently communicative phrasing to the role of Mimi. The intensely expressive Michael Fabiano plays Rodolfo, and the delightful Nadine Sierra is the coquettish Musetta. The opera will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. The performance will last approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes with one intermission.
Prior to the 7:30 performance, join your fellow alums for a complimentary wine reception and private talk beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the Dress Circle North Promenade area of the Opera House. The Dress Circle is located 3 flights up from the Lobby level. The reception will include Napa Valley Cabernet and Dijon Clones Chardonnay wines courtesy of Pine Ridge Vineyards, as well as Absinthe Verte courtesy of St. George spirits.
