PCNC and Save the Bay on Coastal Cleanup Day

Calling all Tigers! Each year we join with Save the Bay (led by David Lewis '83) on Coastal Cleanup Day to remove trash and litter clogging the waterways entering the San Francisco Bay.

We'll be working at the MLK Jr. Shoreline location in Oakland, as we have in past years (more details on address and parking to follow). The usual format: free bagels and juice from Save the Bay; background and instructions from the Save the Bay staff; boisterous cleanup efforts; and a wrap-up which includes awards for "weirdest item found." Children are welcome but must be supervised—ages 3+ are best.

For anyone who would like to gather for a post-cleanup lunch courtesy of PCNC, we'll order sandwiches from Joaquin Deli and re-convene at our traditional picnic spot, about 1/4 mile from the parking area.

Saturday Sept. 16
9am-noon (allow an extra 45 minutes if joining PCNC lunch)

MLK Jr. Shoreline, Oakland (exact meeting place will be determined by Save the Bay, roughly 1-2 weeks before event)

Please RSVP to Catherine Baker '97 at ccb [at] stanford.edu. If you need a ride or can offer a ride to someone else, include that in your RSVP.
