Tuesdays
with Morrie, An Old Man, a Young Man, and the Last Great Lesson,
by Mitch Albom
This true story about the love between a spiritual mentor and his
pupil has soared to the bestseller list for many reasons. An accidental
viewing of an interview with Morrie Schwartz on Nightline leads
the author to become reunited with his old teacher, friend, and
"coach" at a time when Albom is struggling to define dissatisfactions
with his own life and career.
We meet Morrie Schwartz, a one of a kind professor, who takes us
on a journey of reawakening to life's best rewards. Even on his
deathbed, this twinkling-eyed mensch manages to teach us all about
living robustly and fully.
Discussion will take place at 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 2 at the home
of Rachel DuPre '93. Rachel lives at 120 Mallorca Way (between Chestnut
and Alhambra Sts.) in San Francisco. Please RSVP to Rachel at (415)
674-8477 and volunteer to bring a snack to help feed our discussion.

Shear Madness
The PCNC has arranged for a group of 15 to see "Shear Madness",
America's longest running play, on Thursday, May 20, 1999.
More than 4.6 million people around the world have seen this hilarious
whodunit. The show has been delighting groups since it opened in
Boston 17 years ago. Eight times a week someone murders Isabel Czerny
in an apartment above the Shear Madness Salon.
Groups lucky enough to be at the scene of the crime not only watch
the action, but become a part of it. The "Shear Madness" humor is
current and spontaneous and the play is different with each performance.
Tickets are $24.
Advance booking is required, so please send your check to Diane
deCordova '83, 1945 Broadway, #405, San Francisco, CA 94109 BEFORE
May 10th.
The show starts at 8 p.m., but we will meet at 7:30 p.m. Location:
Mason Street Theatre, 340 Mason Street (between Geary & O'Farrell),
San Francisco.

The Princeton University Glee Club under the direction of Richard
Tang Yuk is thrilled to announce its upcoming tour to the San Francisco
area.
Founded in 1874, the group is one of the oldest college glee clubs
in the country and has performed at many illustrious occasions including
the premiere of Igor Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex. In recent years the
Glee Club has taken tours of both Eastern Europe and Puerto Rico.
We are excited this year to visit a place that several of our members
call home. Please join us for our concert at St. Theresa's Church,
Oakland.
The program will consist of a variety of musical styles including
music of the Renaissance, French chansons, music of Brahms, Handel
and negro spirituals. We hope to see you there.
The concert will begin at 4 p.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 30 Mandolay
Road (near Clarewood, off Broadway Terrace), in Oakland.
There is no formal admission charge, but contributions are welcome.
For directions and further information, call Maureen Querio P99
at (510) 654-5521.
