| New Frontiers of Computing
Come to The Tech
Museum to explore the future as leaders in their field share their expertise
and vision for the facets of life that matter most in the new millennium.
Princeton professor Dr. Laura Landwebber will be one of the featured
speakers in a lecture on “The New Frontiers of Computing.” Together,
Dr. Landwebber and Dr. Isaac Chuang, a noted researcher in quantum computing
from IBM, will discuss the future of computing as experts expect the
chip to reach its limits in 2012. They will explore how DNA and subatomic
particles can serve as computer components to solve calculations that
are too difficult for even supercomputers to tackle.
These lectures are a part of The Tech’s “In the Know Zone 2000: Visions
of the New Millennium” interactive lecture series. The lecture is held
at The Tech’s IMAX Theater located at 201 South Market Street in downtown
San Jose. The program starts promptly at 7 pm with seating beginning
at 6:45 pm. The Princeton Club has negotiated a special lecture price
of $10 per person. For more information about speakers along with map
information, please visit The Tech’s website at:
