Continuing Education Event

In celebration of Princeton’s Graduate School Centennial, join fellow tigers for an enriching, academic symposium. PCNC has gathered an exciting forum of professors, each distinguished and acclaimed in their field of expertise. Alumni Day will feature four different courses, offering alums a broad, stimulating, and challenging curriculum.

The event will be held at the University of California – Berkeley, Boalt School of Law, courtesy of Daniel Rubinfeld ’67. Continental breakfast, refreshments, and lunch will be provided. More detailed directions and parking information will be sent to you once you RSVP.

“Can Japan Reform?”
A discussion of the Japanese economic crisis, its causes, possible solutions, and the political barriers to effective economic reform.
Steven K. Vogel ‘83
Associate Professor of Political Science, UC Berkeley
Vogel’s specialty is Japan, Comparative Politics, and Comparative and International Political Economy. His current research examines the ongoing transformation of the Japanese and German variants of capitalism.

“Shamans, Warriors, and the Conversion of Europe (When the Dark Ages Were Really Dark)”
Geoffrey Koziol ‘73
Associate Professor of Medieval History, UC Berkeley
Koziol’s research interests include politics and ritual in late Carolingian and Capetian France; Carolingian and post-Carolingian monasticism; political power and religious discourse. Koziol’s classes at UC Berkeley focus on northern European culture from the Merovingians to the eve of the Hundred Years’ War.

"Panel: Life of a Start-Up"
An expert panel of Bay Area entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, managers, lawyers, and investment bankers will walk through common considerations in founding, building, financing, and taking public an entrepreneurial venture. The presentation will walk through the life of a fictional company, Tiger.com, from garage to Nasdaq high-flyer.
