The Magic of Rapport: How to Gain Personal Power

Jerry Richardson '64, a communications consultant, will share powerful techniques and strategies for obtaining your goals at work, at home, and with friends. Why are some people able to attract and influence others almost immediately while other people never seem to connect? Richardson will discuss how these techniques and strategies are integrated into his consulting work for organizations and individuals and how these contribute to team-building, sales, and effective interaction among people with different styles. Richardson has a background in sales and sales training, marketing and management consulting, advertising, counseling, and education. He heads his own consulting firm, Richardson Associates, which is based in San Francisco, and has authored a book, The Magic of Rapport: How You Can Gain Personal Power In Any Situation.

Come and meet other local alumni and enjoy a lively talk and discussion over lunch. Luncheon reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance; to reserve, contact.

Join fellow tigers and bring your family (all ages welcome) to the San Francisco Zoo. Home to 250 species of exotic and domestic mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates, this is the largest zoological park in Northern California and one of the Bay Area's most popular cultural and recreational attractions. The focus of the San Francisco Zoo is wildlife conservation. Through our naturalistic exhibits, field conservation projects, and educational programs, we are building a center for conservation and education.

First, we will meet inside the Zoo gate before taking the grand tour. Highlights will include the elephants, lions and tigers (!), hippos, zebras, giraffes, and gorillas. The Children’s Zoo will be the grand finale, where we can feed the sheep and goats.

Above and Beyond Chardonnay

Due to the sell-out status of our last wine tasting event, the London Wine Bar in San Francisco, the oldest wine bar in the United States, is once again opening its doors and its cellar for another special PCNC tasting. This time, we're switching from red to white wines. Melissa Doff '84 will guide us through a special tasting and teach us about the "ABC's" of white wine! We'll all have a chance to taste some uniquely fragrant, flavorful, and limited California varietals that are the perfect compliment to so many different types of cuisines. Appetizers will be provided and we will begin the tasting promptly at 7:00 pm.
