Special Reception at E&O Trading Company for Jameson W. Doig 5/6 4-6 SF

"The Advantage of Relying on Markets (& some costs) -- education vouchers, decriminalization of addictive drugs, and paying college athletes at the market rate."

The Princeton Club of Northern California is delighted to sponsor a special reception at the E&O Trading Company. Designed by architect Paul Ma, E&O Trading Company’s decor is inspired by a 19th century Southeast Asian trading house with bamboo, antiques, and colorful braided ropes in the backdrop. The Princeton Club will meet in a private room in the more formal upper level, which exudes a British colonial air.

Jameson W. Doig, Professor of Politics and Public Affairs will talk about "The Advantage of Relying on Markets (& some costs) -- education vouchers, decriminalization of addictive drugs, and paying college athletes at the market rate."

Jameson W. Doig is professor of public and public affairs at Princeton University, where he has taught for more than 30 years. He recently completed a 3-year term as chair of the Politics Department, and President Shapiro has just appointed him as the first Director of the new Mamdouha S. Bobst Center for Peace and Justice. Jim's fields of interest include public policy in the United States; leadership and management; police and criminal justice; engineering and politics; and the politics of Canada. His talk is drawn from his undergraduate lecture course, Politics of Economic and Social Control. He received the Herbert Kaufman Award in public administration and the Upsher Prize of the Society for the History of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University, 1961.

A cocktail reception, including distinctive crafted draft beers, will accompany the following
