| Celebrate beer, bratwurst, and bavarian bands at
Oktoberfest By the Bay
If you are up for a
night of Hofbrauhaus-inspired festivities, then join Princeton young alumni at
San Francisco's Oktoberfest By-the-Bay! This event is always a lot of fun, with
fine German beer, wurst and strudel, an authentic Bavarian band, and quality
beersteins, t-shirts and alpine drinking hats available for purchase. You'll
think you're in Munich. We will hold a table or two with orange and black
balloons so that you can hang out and fraternize with other young alums and
enjoy the event, just reply by Oct 1. so that we can reserve enough tables.
There is a $12 fee payable to the organizers of Oktoberfest By-the-Bay at the
door, and we suggest that you bring enough cash to cover your beer, food and
beerstein!
Please see the following link for more information, pictures of last year's
event and directions.

| Watch the Blue Angels from the decks of the Empress
Hornblower
Join fellow tigers for
an afternoon on the San Francisco Bay with an exceptional view of Fleet Week
festivities and the Blue Angels Air Show. PCNC is pleased to sponsor this
special event in recognition of the support of its members.
The Empress Hornblower is reminiscent of a turn of the century Paddle Wheel
Riverboat with an elegant mahogany and shining brass interior. This three-hour
cruise will include a reception of gourmet hor d’oeuvres and a premium beer and
wine no-host bar. Specialties such as goat cheese & sundried tomato tartlettes,
ahi tartare on cucumber rounds, and chicken satay will be served on Princeton
Club’s private deck. There will be ample indoor and outdoor seating and multiple
decks from which to enjoy the best views. Wear your orange and black for the
festivities.
Thank you for being a part of the Princeton Club of Northern California!

| PCNC Career Council
Need to brush up on your
networking skills? Looking for advice on how to manage your career? Searching
for a mentor or interested in being one? Please join us for our first Networking
Night in the Bay Area.
Net Nights began as a series of monthly events in Washington in 2001 and is
currently running in 3 cities (Chicago, NYC and Washington). The goal of Net
Nights is to bring together alums from all classes to help strengthen and
revitalize our Princeton network and help individual alums thrive in their
careers and lives. We believe that networking is not a "job-getting" skill but
is a life skill that one can always improve on.
The PCNC Career Council plans on having quarterly Net Nights with a potential
for monthly Net Nights on more narrow topics (e.g. "How to Get a Job in
Finance"). Each Net Night will vary slightly, but the general format will be a
speaker or panel and a networking session.
For our first Net Night a Career Strategy Coach (TBD) will give
a presentation and we will then break into groups to practice a
basic networking skill: your "elevator pitch". Please join us for
the launch of Net Nights in the Bay Area!
Courtesy of Peter Heinecke '87, Net Night will be held in the conference
room of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. 950 Page Mill Road is
one block west of El Camino Real and is next door to the Wilson,
Sonsini, Goodrich and Rosati main building. For detailed directions,

Come join us for a
communal lunch at the Thai Buddhist Temple and Cultural Center in Berkeley. On
Sundays, the “Wat”, which means temple in Thai, raises funds for a capital
campaign to upgrade its buildings by selling delicious, authentic Thai fare to
the public. The long tables in the outdoor pavilion will accommodate large
groups, but arrive on time before the food disappears! Bring your dollar bills
to exchange for tokens to buy lunch.

Old World and New World Wines
Once again the Princeton
Club will meet at the London Wine Bar in San Francisco's financial district to
taste and compare fine wine. This evening the tasting will introduce
participants to wines from the Bordeaux and Burgundy regions of France and to
wines made from the same grape varietals from California, Australia and
elsewhere. The evening should be fun for all whether you are a serious
connoisseur or just simply enjoy good wine.
