Shakespeare's Classic Romantic Comedy with Marin Shakespeare

Revel in the poetic magic of Shakespeare’s most popular comedy. A Midsummer Night’s Dream features former Pickle Circus and Cirque du Soleil star Diane Wasnak as Puck and a crew of trained clowns (including Bonzer the dog) as fairies and fools. This is a spectacular first introduction to Shakespeare for children (tickets just $15 for 18 years and under) and a delightful treat for adults, lunatics, lovers and poets.

Dress warmly and bring a picnic. The theatre opens at 3:00 pm. Copious free parking. Comfortable bench seating with backs. Bring seat cushions or blankets or rent cushions for $1 each. The theatre cafe serves hot and cold drinks including beer and wine, and snacks including hearty soups in bread bowls. Producer Lesley Schisgall Currier ’84 will greet the group and give a pre-show introduction at 3:40 pm.

Coast Trail in Pt Reyes National Seashore 9/14 10:30-4 Olema Ashley Conrad-Saydah '99
Scenic natural history coastal hike in Pt Reyes

Explore coastal, woodland and grassland habitats on a comfortable hike along Point Reyes National Seashore's Coast Trail loop. This 5-6 mile hike leads explorers down wide winding trails past elk, deer, sea stars and seals and back again. Enjoy the eclectic mix of California ecosystems and the great views that Point Reyes offers, with Ashley Conrad-Saydah '99 and Dan Sullivan '63. Bring sunscreen, windbreaker, lunch, and whatever you want to drink. You may want a camera and binoculars. RSVP to Ashley is helpful, but not required.

Driving directions: Take the San Anselmo/Sir Francis Drake exit from 101. Go west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd about 21 miles to Hwy 1 in Olema. Turn right (north) on Hwy 1, then make an immediate left onto Bear Valley Rd. In less than half a mile turn left at a big red barn and a sign for Pt Reyes National Seashore information, and continue to the Bear Valley Visitor Center. Allow an hour for the drive from 101 to the Visitor Center.

Champions Run for Children - UCSF Children's Hospital 9/21 8-11:30 SF Tom Giles '91
Help organize children's events at benefit for AIDS research

Join Princeton alumni in helping One Brick, a Bay Area volunteer group, handle children's events at the annual Champions Run for Children, a benefit for the pediatric HIV/AIDS program at UCSF Children's Hospital. We'll help with registration, organizing runs, supervising the bouncy castle, distribution of T-shirts and goodie bags and handing ribbons to kids as they cross the finish line. We're also invited to join One Brick volunteers for lunch at a nearby pub.
