| San Francisco Ocean Film Festival
San Francisco Ocean Film
Festival will present films that celebrate the sea, marine life, and the people
who live, work, and play in or near the ocean. Films will be screened January
10th & 11th at Fort Mason Center's Cowell Theater beginning at 10:30 am. The
Saturday (Jan 11th) 3:30 PM program will be anchored by Shape of Life #6,
Survival Game, a documentary on the ability of marine invertebrates to adapt.
The film features Professor Geerat Vermeij ('68) of UC Davis. Professor Vermeij
is an authority on the subject matter, and will lead a discussion/Q&A after the
film.
The Festival is an all-volunteer project, and Princetonians who have contributed
include Charlie Boyd '91, Jack Burke '66, Joe Illick '56, and Krist Jake ’66,
Founder.

| 4-5 mile hike on upper part of Mt Tamalpais
Take advantage of the
Bay Area's usually mild winter weather for an outing from the Rock Spring
trailhead on Mt Tamalpais. At an elevation of almost 2000 feet, this trailhead
gives us a choice of several wonderful hikes on the upper slopes of Mt Tam. If
it's a clear day, we'll take a 5-mile hike with great views in all directions.
If it's drizzly, we'll take a shorter hike on trails that are more sheltered by
forests. Bring lunch, and be prepared for temperatures 5-10 degrees cooler than
at sea level. Heavy rain cancels the hike.
Driving directions: Take the Highway 1 exit from US 101. Go north on Highway 1
about 3 miles, and bear right (uphill) onto Panoramic Highway. In another mile,
Panoramic Highway bears slightly left (uphill) at an irregular four-way
junction. About four miles later, bear right (uphill) onto Pantoll Road towards
the Mt Tam summit. The Rock Spring parking area is 1.4 miles further at a T
junction with Ridgecrest Boulevard.
RSVP is helpful, but not required.
