| The
April 3 run will be at Skyline Open Space Preserve near Page Mill
Road in Palo Alto. Directions will be sent to the PWN Trail Run
distribution list.
We’ve had so much fun exploring the beautiful landscape of the Bay
Area. Mt. Tam, the Headlands, the Berkeley Hills, the Presidio,
Land’s End, China Camp, and more to come. Monthly runs are on the
first Saturday of the month, and we generally run about an hour
to an hour and a half (5-8 miles) at about a 9-minute mile pace.
If you’d like to be on the distribution list, email Suzy and you’ll
get the monthly info. The run location is distrubuted the week prior
to the run, and suggestions are encouraged! Friends, family and
PCNC members welcome!

| Networking: The key to starting and running your own business
Need to brush up on your networking skills? Looking for a mentor? Looking to expand your Princeton networking base? Please come to our Spring "Net Night" on April 20th in San Francisco.
Temp Keller '98, Founder and President of RISE (Resources for Indispensable Schools and Educators), will discuss how networking helped him both start and run his own business. RISE is a non-profit organization that builds a professional network of experienced teachers who have improved student learning in K-12 public schools serving low-income communities. For three and a half years RISE has been providing these teachers with the resources they need to stay happy and effective. RISE was born from his experience teaching fifth grade at the East Palo Alto Charter School in East Palo Alto, CA, where he now serves on the school's Advisory Board. Prior to teaching, Temp worked in capital markets for Banco General de Negocios, an Argentine investment bank in Buenos Aires. Temp received his B.A. in Politics from Princeton.
Agenda:
6:30-7: Registration and Open Networking
7-8:30: Presentation
8:30-9: Open Networking

Bernard Lee '90 |
| with David Lewis, Executive Director of Save The Bay
Our first
luncheon talk of 2004 promises to be both entertaining and exciting
to alums interested in the future of the San Francisco Bay. For
the last six years David Lewis '83 has been Executive Director of
Save The Bay, which has been working for more than four decades
to protect and restore the natural treasure in our midst. David
will talk about two important victories for the Bay in 2003 - halting
SFO's runway expansion and acquiring more than 16,000 acres of salt
ponds for restoration. He will also discuss how Save The Bay is
tackling the toughest threats to San Francisco Bay, sprawl and pollution.
A Bay Area native, David previously organized legislative and issue
campaigns from Washington, DC. He served as Chief Operations Officer
for the League of Conservation Voters, and as senior Legislative
Assistant for U.S. Senator Carl Levin. He graduated from Princeton
in 1983 with a degree in Politics and American Studies.
This luncheon will be held at the law offices of Heller Ehrman White
& McAuliffe LLP (courtesy of Hans Hull ‘97) on Wed April 21. The
cost is $12 for members and non-members. Please contact Bernard
Lee ‘90 at bernardl@alumni.princeton.edu by April 15th to reserve
your space for this event.

Whitewater Rafting Day Trip on the Tuolumne River |
4/25 |
8-5 |
Groveland
|
Scott
Hennessey '94 |
| A
national treasure, the Tuolumne River offers the finest in class IV
whitewater in a canyon of pure wilderness. Clear and cool, fresh from
its headwaters in Yosemite National Park, the Tuolumne thunders through
a grand succession of boulder gardens and spectacular cascades. It
has been designated a National Wild and Scenic River by Congress.
Come join fellow adventurous alumni on a day trip down a spectacular
18 mile stretch of this magnificent river. The
group will meet in Groveland (about a 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco)
and then spend the rest of the day rafting. Lunch of buffet-style
sandwiches will be provided. At the end of the journey, the group
will be met and driven back to their cars. You should be back at
your car by about 5 p.m.
RSVP and payment
must be made by March 15th. Please RSVP to the PCNC contact listed
below. Payments will be to the Whitewater Voyages company directly,
at 1 (800) 400-RAFT. Ask for Sue Mooney and let her know you're
with the Princeton Club and your group leader is Scott Hennessey.
Be prepared to give her your wetsuit size. If there is insufficient
interest (fewer than 6 participants), your money will be refunded.
Trips are rarely
cancelled due to weather, so come prepared.
Minimum age: 14
Maximum # of participants: 21
For questions
or additional details (driving directions, accommodations if desired,
suggested attire and equipment, etc), contact Scott Hennessey, or

| Join us in the Princeton section and cheer for SF's hometown
team! Princeton
has a group of 25 seats for the San Francisco Giants' April 27th
night game against the Atlanta Braves. Come cheer on the home team
and break out your orange and black apparel - it won't be out of
place when you root for the Giants! Each seat goes for the low,
low price of $12 (for members) and a shoutout to the Princeton Tigers
on the scoreboard is included. An added bonus is that every seat
in the ballpark has a great view. Please RSVP by April 23rd and
feel free to bring a friend. If you are a member, your guest's ticket
cost will be the same as yours (member price). Once all RSVPs are
received an email will be sent out for details about where to meet
up (for drinks/tailgate and ticket distribution before the game);
location will probably be MoMos or Gordon Biersch unless we decide
to tailgate in one of the lots). RSVP quickly as these tickets will
go fast at this great price! See you at the game!
