San Francisco Symphony 's Summer in the City: All Russian Program 7/8 8-11 SF See Below
Mix and Mingle with other Ivy League alums

Nothing says summer like the 1812 Overture! Come enjoy the summer with the Penn Club, Ivy Alliance, and the San Francisco Symphony for a night of great music and fun. The 1812 Overture, which you will likely have heard with your fireworks, will be performed with other fantastic Russian pieces by Shostakovich (Festive), Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto No. 2), and Prokofiev (Classical). The group will go for drinks after the concert appealing to those of you interested in the arts as well as the social aspects of the Ivy Alliance! Buy early since tickets are limited and likely to sell out.

The PWN book club meets monthly in different alums' houses in the Bay Area. We discuss both fiction and non-fiction books, with good food. For July, we will be ready "The Other Side of the River" by Alex Kotlowitz, and meeting in Cow Hollow in San Francisco. National AIDS Memorial Grove gardening 7/16 8:30-1:30 San Francisco Jamye Jamison '96
Spend a morning gardening in honor of those who've lost their lives to AIDS

Join fellow alumni in gardening and refurbishing the grove in Golden Gate Park dedicated to the memory of those who have lost their lives to AIDS. Starting at 9 a.m., we'll help out with projects such as weeding, pruning and planting. No experience is necessary and work gloves and tools are provided. Dress comfortably in clothes you won't mind getting dirty.

Coffee and bagels will be provided for breakfast, as will lunch at midday. Please download, complete and bring a release form:

Discovery Walk in San Francisco Presidio 7/24 10:30-4:30 SF Dan Sullivan '63
7-mile circuit through the forest and coastline of the S.F. Presidio

Join Mark Phanitsiri '01 and Dan Sullivan '63 on a 7.5-mile walk on little-used trails in the San Francisco Presidio. After over 200 years as a military post, the Presidio has become a wonderful recreational resource as part of the Golden Gate National Parks. This walk will climb through the forest in the center of the Presidio, then head west to Baker Beach on the Pacific Ocean. We will walk north along the beach and coastal bluffs to Golden Gate Bridge, and then return along the "Golden Gate Promendade" by San Francisco Bay. Bring lunch, sunscreen, and windbreaker. (July is often foggy and windy in this corner of San Francisco.) Princeton friends and children are welcome. RSVP is helpful, but not required.
