| Organize kids' events at benefit for pediatric AIDS
research
Join Princeton alumni in
helping organize children's events at the annual Champions Run for Children, a
benefit for the pediatric HIV/AIDS program at UCSF Children's Hospital. We'll
help with registration, organizing runs, refreshment distribution, passing out
T-shirts and goodie bags and handing ribbons to kids as they cross the finish
line. All volunteers are rewarded with t-shirts, refreshments, and much
appreciation. This event was a big success two years ago. Help make this year's
even better.

| The Italian Girl in Algiers
The Princeton Club of
Northern California and San Franciso Opera join together to bring you an
afternoon of music and culture.
Join your colleagues for The Italian Girl in Algiers by Giaccomo Rossini,
performed in the historic War Memorial Opera House. Attend a pre-opera lecture
and mingle at our exclusive champagne reception during intermission. Don’t miss
this special event!
San Francisco Opera’s production of Rossini's The Italian Girl in Algiers is a
madcap romp about a spunky signorina and a self-important despot. Literally
popping out of a stage-sized child’s storybook, this clever production is
inspired by the innocence and style of the 1930s. Witness the fantasy world
where anything can (and does) happen as the resourceful Italian Girl arrives on
the exotic shores of Algeria and uses her womanly wiles to save the day.
Attend the San Franciso Opera's free Opera Talk in the War Memorial Opera House
55 minutes prior to the performance. Opera scholars will enrich your opera
experience by discussing the music, history, and behind-the-scenes background of
that night’s production.
During the first intermission, mingle with fellow alums in the Grand Tier North
Promenade for a special all-you-can-drink champagne reception ($15 in addition
to ticket price). A PCNC representative will be on hand to welcome guests.
Ticket prices will range from $30-72 depending on seating section (plus $15 for
champagne reception). San Francisco Opera is pleased to offer Princeton alumni
this package that includes a special discount of 15% off regular ticket prices.
This offer will be available online only, not by phone or in person, and will
expire September 11, 2005. Offer is subject to availability. Directions to the
website where tickets can be purchased directly will be announced later this
summer.
Please RSVP if you are interested in this event so that we can get an
approximate count of attendees.
You can find more information about The Italian Girl in Algiers, including
advance program notes and audio clips on San Francisco Opera’s website
www.sfopera.com.

| Pinot Noir Tasting
Pinot Noir has been
enjoying a surge of popularity since the release of the film Sideways, but wine
afficianados have long considered it one of the most elegant and interesting red
wines. Originating in Burgundy, France, Pinot Noir is now grown up and down the
west coast of the United States with each region producing a distinctive style
of wine. At this tasting, we will sample Pinot Noirs from Santa Barbara,
Northern California, Oregon and Burgundy. The wines will be accompained by
various Pinot friendly appetizers and the mood will be set by the classic style
of Memory House Antiques (courtesy of James Lee '86). As always, this PCNC wine
tasting is for anybody who enjoys a nice glass of red wine.
