| Experience Shakespeare's great Falstaff plays: Henry IV,
Part I and Henry IV, Part II. This is a rare opportunity to see both plays in
one day. See Part I at 4, then enjoy a catered picnic dinner, a conversation
with the Artistic Director about the plays, and Part II at 8 pm. ($85 per
person, purchase drinks separately or bring your own. $55 per person for dinner
and either play.)
Marin Shakespeare
Company performs at the lovely Forest Meadows Amphitheatre on the campus of
Dominican University in San Rafael. There is copious free parking.
When you arrive at the Box Office on the day of the show, please inform the
attendant that you are with the Princeton group. You can pay cash, check or
credit card (except American Express) at the door -- but please reserve at least
a day in advance so we can order your dinner.

| Bike Ride |

Bike ride the GG Bridge, Marin Headlands, Saucelito, Tiburon
Let's get an early start for what is really a very breath-taking and vigorous bike ride that will include a few steep hills (both up and down), fantastic vistas from the Marin Headlands, Saucelito, the Strawberry loop and Tiburon. We can have lunch in Tiburon before we head back. If we hv enough time and energy we can do the Belvedere loop as well coming home up and over Camino Alto which is a nice little hill.
We'll meet at the Sports Basment in the Presidio, climb out, go over the Golden Gate Bridge, climb to the top of the Marin Headlands where we'll take our first rest. We'll then go down a very steep hill and head out to the Point Bonita Lighthouse. From there we will head back, go through the tunnel and turn down into Saucelito where we will take another short break. Through Saucelito, along the bike path, turn onto the Strawberry loop and eventually make our way over to Tiburon where we will have lunch. Since there is a ferry that goes back to San Francisco you can always have the option (as long as you bring abt $11.50) to ferry back to S.F. but the bike ride back is much faster and direct than when we are first coming out.
As far as the route, I am certainly open to your suggestions.
We did the ride often as a practice ride for our trip from S.F. to L.A. and everyone loved it. There are real hills going up into the Marin Headlands so please join us if you feel confident you can make it up these hills. The rest of the ride isn't too hilly.
Absolutely make sure your bike is in top running condition BEFORE we begin the trip (Any good bike shop can help out with this and just note it might take them a few days to get it done for you so leave enough time):
1. tires properly inflated
2. brakes in good working condition
3. chain cleaned and oiled
4. everything else tightened and working well.
We can buy food and drink throughout the trip but i would recommend you bring bananas to eat and Gatorade in your bottles along with water. (I use a hydration pack.) If it is a sunny day bring sun screen, sunglasses and please make sure you WEAR A HELMET.
I look forward to hearing from you. Perhaps this can be the beginning of a good biking group. There are many nice rides to do here in the Bay Area and this certainly is one of the very good ones.
FYI, my name is Howard. My son Josh (08) will be a senior this year. I am 56 and have been riding for the last year and a half and this past June 3rd through the 9th did the S.F. to L.A. AIDS Life Cycle 565 mile ride which was quite fantastic.

| Tea and Recipe Exchange
The Annual Tea is a
favorite event on the PWN calendar for many reasons, but most of all for the
excellent conversation! With so many accomplished and intelligent Princeton
women with such a wide variety of interests, careers, and life experiences, each
tea is an inspiring and delightful afternoon. This year we're going to forgo the
traditional panel/discussion format to allow more time for casual socializing.
However, we will maintain a simple element of "program" by having a tea and
recipe exchange. Participants are asked to bring either tea or a treat (sweet
or savory) and copies of the recipe to share. If you bring tea bags or loose
leaf tea to share, or if your treat came from that fabulous bakery on your
block, please bring information on where we can purchase that tea or treat as
your "recipe". We look forward to seeing you at Stephanie Anderson's home on
Sunday, September 30. When you RSVP to suzytompkins@yahoo.com, please include
your class year, a bit about yourself and what tea or treat you'll bring with
you to the social.
