| Art collecting and the business side of the local art scene
Leah Edwards,
Head of Marketing and Business Development, for the Hang art galleries
will join us to discuss art collecting and the business side of the
local art scene. Hang specializes in Emerging Artists for Emerging Collectors.
We'll be discussing be how to build an art collection without marrying
into the Rockefeller clan.
For almost ten years, Leah was an active board member and volunteer
for several San Francisco arts organizations. During that time, her
day job was helping to launch software and internet companies. She is
very excited that her position at HANG lets her focus full-time on her
goals of supporting local artists and of making art more accessible
to a broad audience. Leah has an MBA from Stanford University and a
BS from UC Berkeley. These days she studies creative writing and putters
with photography and other creative projects, while still volunteering
her time on behalf of local artists and arts organizations.
The dinner is potluck. Directions and food assignments will be provided
upon sign-up.
